Recently, Facebook has changed its efforts to power users to use their real names. Here’s how to add another name such as a nickname, alias, or maiden name to your Facebook profile. Here is the simple and easy way to add Nickname or Birth name to your Facebook profile.
There are the Following steps to add Nicknames to Facebook profile:
Step 1: To add other names, you want to click “About” at the top of your timeline.
Step 2: Next click the “Details About You” category and note the “Other Names” settings.
Step 3: From here you can add a nickname, birth name, and click on the other to add a name that you want.
Keep in mind that Other Names are “always public and help people to find you on Facebook” so if your privacy is super important to you then this option may not be the best choice.
Step 4: In this option if you want your other name shown at the top of your profile in addition next to your “real life” names, you should to check is it show at the top of profile. You will be able to preview what this will look like before you commit to it.
Adding other names on iOS and Android
If you are an iOS user then the steps are mostly same as on other platforms.
Step 1: Go to the Menu tap “Settings.”
Step 2: Now, on the Settings Screen tap “Name.”
Step 3: This is again at the Change Name Screen. Other name option, you just need to tap “Add or Change other names.”
Then, same on Android, tap “Add a nickname, a Birth name”
